Rosetta Marketing and SimStar Join Forces
Industry Leaders Combine to Turn Customer Insights and Interactions Into Measurably Superior Marketing Results
New York - June 29, 2005 - Rosetta Marketing Group, a pioneering segment-based marketing firm, today announced it has acquired SimStar, Inc., a leading interactive marketing agency, creating the largest privately-held relationship marketing company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The companies, each based in the Princeton area, offer complementary services. SimStar has been providing relationship marketing services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries since 1993. Rosetta, founded in 1998, helps companies accelerate their profitable growth by unlocking the distinctive drivers of brand choice and category usage among high-potential customers. The combined company will serve a client roster that includes Pfizer, Gillette, AstraZeneca, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, AOL, Novartis, CIBC, Genentech, Chase, AmericanGreetings.com, Merrill Lynch, and Cingular.
"This union effectively creates the next generation marketing services firm that we believe will be a significant force in reshaping the competitive landscape," said Chris Kuenne, president, Rosetta Marketing Group. "By providing a total marketing solution based upon deep customer insights and executed across multiple channels, we will provide clients with breakthrough results that are differentiable, measurable and for which we are willing to be held accountable."
"This combination is going to fill a big need in the marketplace―one firm that can not only generate the insights, but can really execute in the marketplace," said Don Casey, group company chairman, Johnson & Johnson. "It is great to see two agencies of this caliber and proven track record get together. It shows real forward thinking."
"This will be a thoughtful integration that will ensure current clients receive the same service and attention they are used to. Simultaneously, we are starting to make some significant staff investments to ensure we are well poised to handle the anticipated growth," said Rob Rebak, SimStar president.
"The strategic fit of our two organizations couldn't be stronger," said Kurt Holstein, Chief Operating Officer of Rosetta. "Our leadership teams, and the innovative and entrepreneurial professionals who represent our combined staffs, are committed to transforming the way brands build and grow relationships with their customers via the ideal combination of segmentation, targeting and personalization. Adding world-class implementation capability to our current strategic services will allow us to expand and accelerate the impact of Personality-Based Marketing on our clients' core customer acquisition, up-sell/cross-sell and retention goals."
SimStar will operate as a division of the Rosetta Marketing Group. The organization will operate from its current offices in Princeton and New York City.
